Yamaha’s ‘STAGEPAS’ PA system has been awarded the coveted title of ‘Best PA Product’ at the prestigious 2006 MIA (Music Industry Association) awards ceremony held on 3rd October at the Savoy Hotel, London.

Designed to meet the increasing 'multi-use' demands of a variety of venues and institutions, Yamaha’s affordable portable Public Address System (STAGEPAS 300) delivers Yamaha's professional sound quality in a compact and convenient portable system that can be set-up and operated by anyone with little or no technical knowledge.

The Music Industry Association has a wide reaching membership covering all areas of the musical instrument trade in the UK including retailers, wholesalers and manufacturers and many of its members are in fierce competition with each other on a day to day basis and due to the diversity of the Association’s membership the award is a true reflection of the popularity and sales success of Yamaha Commercial Audio, the market leader in high level professional sound reinforcement products.

STAGEPAS offers an ultra-compact design, 2-way speakers and an easy to use eight-channel stereo mixing console. The system that can also be used for multimedia corporate presentations is ideal for schools, places of worship, conference venues and small to mid sized entertainment venues.

Anyone really LIKE this system? I've seen threads on here, I guess I could search, haha.

You can bet your bottom dollar that the person writing the press release review wrote it without ever hearing, seeing or testing the amp. Kinda' like the guys that wrote all those testimonials about the Bose L1--folks who never saw one in person, but they became instant experts by reading the specification sheet!

Cheers,

Gary

I think the awards are categorized by price point and portability. So it does make sense that it would win in this category. I don't think you can compare this system to ALL other sound reinforcement systems.

I've never heard this system, so no judgement here.

I have the system and the sound quality and portability are outstanding. However, it is only powerful enough for small venues. I am using it for acoustic guitar with backing tracks.

Isn't this the same organization that gave the best KB award to the TYROS 2?

If you're interested in MY review, done on the job, you can search for it here. In a nutshell, really good sound, horrible effects, not quite enough volume.

I sell alot of these small compact system. As Don has mentioned, the volume is adequate for small rooms but it does have two powered speaker outputs to use with additional powered speakers for more volume or into larger PA's. The Reverb is more of a Kareoke echo/reverb. This could be improved on but for the price of $549.00 it's a great little system. Yamaha has developed their 8" two way speakers to really be clean and sharp sounding so they work great with all the great keyboards out there.

The reverb didn't bother me as much as I thought it would. You just can't set it too high.
