I'll be singing this tonight at 12:05, but does anyone know what Auld Lang Syne means?

The explanation should be a good ice breaker over champagne and hot dogs in a bun.

Auld lang syne ... literally means "old long ago". Better translation is perhaps "times gone by"

Written by Robert Burns to a traditional tune, here's the link to ALL the words if you fancy being adventurous tonight. http://www.hogmanay.net/auldlangsynelyrics.shtml

What style & tempo are you using to play Auld Lang Syne on your KB?

I sing it with a slow swing, about 82-26 bpm, then play it through instrumently, then change to a high-energy Big-Band style and interchange it with "When The Saints Come Marching In".
Let's everybody be intimate, then celebrate.

We are planning on doing it with a Rock-Swing at about 120 BPM.
