Did Yamaha also neglect to put a mono piano sample in the P250, like they did with the P120 and the P90. Ironically the P90 is marketed as a "stage piano"?
Maybe that's why I have yet to see a pro using the P250 on stage.
Running stereo piano samples into a mono sound system you will get a rather thin, edgy, attack only type sound.

I bet the P200 had a mono piano sample and that Chuck in the Rolling Stones and Elton John both could use on stage.

The P250 has 2 mono piano patches in the XG group.

Steve,

Are you referring to "GrndPianoKSP" in the XG group? It sounds very crappy.

With the current P series keyboards I guess the only thing to do is to play with a stereo setup. Clearly you are screwed if you don't.

And why is the P90 marketed as a stage piano but doesn't have any mono piano samples? Mono piano samples seem to be necessary for live because PA systems are almost always in mono.

Thanks,
rtc

RTC,
Yes, that one and BritPnoK. I can't speak for marketing, but yours is the first complaint I've had about no mono pianos. I'll put your comments in the database. Anybody else want to chime in? Is a good mono piano sample a must on a stage piano?

Steve,

Have you heard the result when summing the stereo piano samples into a mono amp?
