I was wondering if anyone else was intersting in an audio example I was going to share with a couple members through private email.

It's so cool that I get emails from members here who are intersted in trying to do a Hip Hop beat My hats off to all you guys that have tackled something completely new and emailed me in private asking for assistance.

Well I got a question asking to show an example of what I mean by "less is more" in this style of music. You have to be careful not to put too much into the mix, especially if lyrics are involved. The real trick is making it sound "modern". I've always said "cheese hop" comes easier than modern hip hop.

I've got an audio demo (short clip) however it consists of only 3 tracks. With this one loop an individual can do so much (if they had a sampler for example).

If no one is interested within the forum I understand. I'll share it with those that have emailed me.

Regards,
Squeak

It's not my style of music to play or even listen to but lets hear it always interested in learning something new.
Thanks squeak

Squeak, I agree with mikeathome1, why not put it up on the forum?

Granted, it may not appeal to many here within the regular crowd, but who knows how many 'lurkers' might chime in at the prospect of learning something new and different?

If we can grok a country tune as a reharmonized bossa, we can handle a little hiphop.....

Alrighty. Again short clip, just an 8 bar loop. This is only 3 tracks. Consists of a tweeked drum kit. The bass is one of my favorite basses (Juno Bass). I then ran the drum and bass tracks through a phaser. Just shows how catchy a 3 track beat can be with not too much going on. I may have to do a re-sample of this puppy and have some fun with it

All keyboard Nick. Roland RS-70 Nothing special added either. Just a tweeked kit, Juno Bass, and VeloStrings. Then ran the drums and bass through a phaser.

Also, the bass drum is a little sub sonic. So if you have lower quality computer speakers with no bottom end you're not going to get the low thump of the bass drum.

Man I can't rap to save my life I can sing, but rap.., no can do. When I created this loop I was bummed out that I can't rap worth a darn. It's a good beat to rap over.

If you got a sampler, you can take this beat, chop/slice the thing and go nuts with it.
