I recently purchased a Yamaha PSR740 and would like to know if anyone is using Lo-Z Hi-Z Transformers on their Microphones, or if you use 1/4" plug Microphones. Are there drawbacks in using a transformer VS not using a trasformer? I also have a Digitech Vocalist VR, but would like to have the fuctionality of the PSR740's onboard harmonizer.

Your Digitech is SO MUCH better than the Yamaha "on board" harmonizer.

Hello ,
I would not use a transformer with the PSR740. The weight of the transformer hanging off the mic input is the biggest problem. Purchase the F XLR to 1/4 inch. By the way ?
What kind of microphone do you use ? Dan O in Baltimore . Go Terps.

OK-will do. I have a bunch of Samson Mics, but I am thinking of picking up a Shure to hsve also. But first I want to get a footswitch controller for my Digitech Vocalist VR. It would be great to change setting on the VR on the fly with a footswitch.

Another cool way to control the harmonies is with a standard volume pedal. That way you can "blend in" the ammount of harmony, instead of just having a simple on/off.
