I think you may have to get it directly from Yamaha's XG website Squeak.

AJ,
I downloaded the demo version. How do I set up XG works to use the softsynth, and my PSR strictly as a controller??? If I like the software I'll buy it and then a cheap 61 key midi controller for the programs.. Oh how much is the full version of the softsynth???

Thanks,
Squeak

Squeak,

Once you install the SYXG-50, it provides it's own midi interface. Once it's installed you should be able to choose it from within the software. In XG works, simply open setup, go to system setup, midi out device and scroll to and choose the SYXG50 in the 1st midi out box. You choose the 550 via the midi in box. What you choose depends on what interface you are plugging the 550 into.

In my case, I plug into the midi ports of my Midiman Audiophile card for my PA80 and either my Soundblaster Live card or USB interface for the Motif. If I want to select the PA80 as my controller, then I choose the Audiophile as my midi in device. If I want to use the Motif ES, I can choose either the SB Live or USB drivers. If you don't have a soundcard with a midi interface, you can always use the 550's to host port ( I assume the 550 has one ? ) and connect to the computer via serial port. If you go this route, you would also need to install the Yamaha midi interface drives that are available on the XG works disk. ( CBX A or something like that )

Does it say "SXG Driver"? If not it's not listed as an option under my XG works
