Well now I'm reinterested, since they upped the poly to 128 on the Fantom X. Guess I'll have to check then out when they hit the stores. Welcome to the show that never ends....grrrrrrrrrrr.

I see Terry switching KB's again soon hahahahaha...

I also think manufacturers are going away from arrangers and going more into creative music using KB's like the new Fathom X with its amazing sound, features, and feel, & leading musicians more down the road in the future into playing with live custom made sequences versus repetitive looped arranger styles. I guess we'll see whats comin soon enough....what do you'all think?

An interesting note on polyphony (no pun intended):

------------------------
...Powered by Roland's Groundbreaking New Synthesis Chip
The new Fantom-X Series comes in a choice of three keyboards, but they all have one thing in common: Roland's new sound generator chip. This chip is Roland's most powerful to date, and it not only makes it possible to play expressive 4-tone Patches with 128-voice polyphony, but it also raises the Fantom-X Series' waveform capacity to approximately 1GB when fully expanded - far more memory than any other musical instrument on the market. What's more, the internal wave ROM has been doubled with quality-focused sounds that will please even the most jaded player.
----------------------

4-tone patches with 128 note polyphony! I hope Korg reads this. If they use this in an arranger keyboard, it should go a long way to satisfy concern of people like myself.

Regards,
Alex

I think in the future, that these two worlds (synthesizers and arrangers) will merge as one, that we'll have workstations that we can call a synthesizer and an arranger, So we can use styles and arpeggiators together, and advanced synth editing features, sampling, expansion slots etc.
That Fantom XR looks intresting, I've seen prices on German online stores, it costs around $1299, pretty cheap, considering all the features it has in store .
