Diki.....one finger hahahahahh dont make me laugh? I think not, I only use one finger when I dont like someone ...but as for playing its full left hand chords/right hand leads and accomp all the way.....as for unfamiliar? cant agree there either I tried it many times on my G1000....its does the job as described but not for me.... how I play an arranger in my own personal style with full vocals works for me ONLY....
I played & directed a 7 PC band 20 years, toured with others way before my arranger KB lifestyle as I do my shows now.....my style is to sound Exactly like that 7 PC band by myself & I do a pretty good job of that...the CS is just a feature like all the others that I dont need so I dont have a yearning or a need for it .....If you need it I really hope they reinvent it for you & whoever does use it although but I doubt it at this stage of the game. Like I said many times before what we use to make music means squat....lets hear the result that's where my ears become the judge....good luck in your CS quest my friend!

PS.... Although I do play a few other instruments I don't at my gigs or dance club but that's my choice...but I will lay down a few tracks when Im recording a project in the studio. ...

I'm a little curious...do you use styles and sing over them?

What parts do you play in your right hand whilst singing, or do you sing along with a MIDI file and add keyboard parts as you sing?

Sounding like a 7 piece band is a lot of preparation.

If you are using styles and soloing the chord sequencer would really be helpful.

Ian I mostly use styles custom tweaked byy me right hand solos and sax & horn parts + organs & everthing else under the sun ......but I will mix it up if I need to on stage depending on the situation with SMF & Mp3's also if I go out in the audience to sing to the ladies or I might play on top of a big multitrack arrangement also .....it depends on the gig.....

I HOPE you completely understood the "one finger' remark was meant as a joke... we know each other long enough (I remember corresponding with you while you were trying the G70) to not take that seriously, (PLEASE! ). If not, please accept my apologies. Perhaps I need to learn to speak emoticon better!

I like your decision to use styles or SMFs or MP3s as the situation demands. I'm very much that way myself. I understand that rabid 'arranger mode or nothing' adherence is restrictive (though if you chose that road, believe me, you NEED a CS!). Probably at least 40-50% of my duo show is just arranger drums, and me playing LH bass and RH parts, the rest SMFs and a few full arranger things (I have a guitarist). If I had the CS, I would drop a lot more SMF work, but no luck from Roland....

Maybe if Yamaha introduce it (thanks, Ian!), Roland will HAVE to reintroduce it....!

I'm not a big fan of "purists" playing attitudes. Again, I make my opinions with My Ears plain & simple....it will always be the bottom line, not How You Do It! In today's times there are Too many music making tools & ways to use them....it's all good if it sounds good !
