Hi Frank,
I didn't realize you'd already owned an sd1.

Came across some sd5 demo's.

I read in a review that the SD5 has only 64 note polyphony, I thought I heard somewhere it was 128?

Hey Frankieve,

I now have a T2 but have had different Ketron products in the past. I too miss the "up front" accompanyments and even some of the solo voices.

I have been toying with the idea of getting the Ketron SD2 which is a very small cheap Ketron module but has all the factory voices of the SD5.

I haven't checked it out yet but I am assuming that I can use the T2 styles to drive the Ketron drums and bass via midi.

This will probably require me to program some "null voices" for the yam drums and bass but that's an easy thing to do. I couldn't just shut the volumes down on the Yam's drum and bass channels as this would also reduce the SD2 volumes.

Anybody doing anything like this out there using a Tyros as a master - If this works then I can buy the SD2 for just £250 here in the UK which should give me the best of both worlds.

Regards - Keith

It will work for some stuff, but allot of the heart of Ketron styles are a audio groove that's mixed in wtih the actual midi notes, so you will get the better sounding bass adrums but will miss allot of that live audio grooves
