Hi, I just got a new TR-Rack a few weeks ago, (and am impressed with it so far). But I have been fighting the following problem for weeks now, and can't figure it out (my knowledge of midi is far from perfect), and any help you could give me would be appreciated
My computer uses a "MidiEngine Note/1+" midi interface, known as "MENOTEP" to the computer, and the TR-Rack midi in and out are connected to this. I installed the SoundDiver librarian that came with the TR-Rack, and about every 5 seconds, continuously, I get the error "A MIDI IN ERROR OCCURRED".
(To elaborate more on this problem), I do the following:
- Start SoundDiver
- It gives message on the PC screen "Receiving Data from TR-Rack".
- This lasts 5 minutes or so, and the TR-Rack seems to respond, and the midi in and out led's of the NOTE/1+ flash. The programs and combinations seem to load into the SoundDiver library.
- After 5 minutes or so, the message "A MIDI IN ERROR OCCURRED" appears on the PC screen. I click "OK", and it appears again in a few seconds. This happens again and again.
- I open "Midi Monitor" in SoundDiver, and see that the "MIDI IN ERROR OCCURRED" occurs at the same time as the following message appears in the midi monitor:
"04:24:46.111(+46902) output:MENOTEP

UT 1"
"F0 42 30 3B 12 F7"
I click "OK" to the error message, and the following appears in the midi monitor window:
"04:24:46.179(+68) INPUT:"
"F0 42 30 3B 42 00 00 02 00 00 F7"
- About 5 seconds later, the "MIDI IN ERROR" message appears again, and the two above messges, with the same hex strings, will appear again. This happens over and over.
- I can do some other stuff in SoundDiver, but this message always pops up and interrupts it.
So far, I have checked the following items:
- Set "Midi Filter Exclusive" in page 8 of TR-RACK global to "ENA".
- Set "Memory Protect, Prog, Comb" in Page 9 of TR-RACK global to "OFF".
I am aware of what some of the data is in the hex strings above, (but not all), and am unclear on what could be wrong. I believe this is a simple midi setting error, and I have also tried some other things, but can't seem to solve this. So again, thanks for any help you can offer for this.
