Okay, I finaly broke down and bought a keyboard. Picked up a Roland Juno 106 from a Pawn shop for $280.00. Downside is, there was no power cable. I thought I had one but, the ones I have are 3 prong ones for computers and the 106 only uses a 2 prong one. So I may have to order one.

Okay so no more gripeing from me.

Cheers!

Hallelujah!! Rejoice, rejoice!
Try Radio Shack for the power cord.
Good luck and keep us informed.

I used to have two killer B3 patches on my Juno 106. I fI can locate the old audio tape that contained the setups, I'll let you know; maybe I can send it to you. And if you strike out on the AC cable, I may have one of those too.

Congratulations - it's not what I expected to hear that you got, but it's a damn good board.

I think the Juno 106 is a great choice for you Paul. I think I even suggested it at one time when you were enquiring about keyboards to buy. Although it is not multitimbral which is typical of analog synths it is very programmable and offers lots of realtime control. It actually provides a lot more than a Mini Moog which was Paul's first choice, simply because it is a later design.

Yes the power chord may have to be ordered from Roland because it is a propietary configuration and won't be available from anyone else. I doubt that Radio Shack would be able to help.

Well I am glad everyone is happy with the choice I have made. I do feel better now that I actually have it. Yea, I already went to Radio Shack to look for a power cord but they only have the 3 prong one. Same ones used for computers. I called Guitar center and they said they could order one for me. It did not occur to me to call Roland direct, becuse I figured they would not have a plug for a 20 year old keyboard.

It is in very good condtion physically, like it was very well taken care of. Even though the power cord is missing, I have a good feeling that it porbably still works. Even if not I know of a repair center that could fix it.

The only thing that gets me is why would someone swipe the power cord?

Did I foregt to metion the copy of an ebay acution tapped to it?

Paul,
Buying a 106 was how I met Fran Carango years ago. I needed a particular bass tone for work, and heard that the Juno was responsible for it. I enjoyed it while I had it, but really needed acurate acouctic sounds and touch sensitive keys. As a synth .... it was nice because of the real time sliders. Very easy to get around. Good luck with it! (Now STOP looking at other boards for a while)

Don't worry I plan too. Actually I am going to learn to play this thing.
