I am now the proud owner of a PA60 thanks to the initiative of Donny Pesce who wanted to make an even trade for a PSR2000. Well...after some consideration I thought I'd give the pa60 a whirl, and I was happy to oblige with my 2k and so far I am happy camper, grea sounds, styles and navigation with just the right amount of basic features and memory capacity to gig with.
Anyway, has anyone upgraded from ver. 1.00 to ver. 1.05 yet? I downloaded the file and followed their directions to place the floppy in the drive and turn on the KB and follow the screen instructions.....but no dice...it's just booting up with the old version and not recognizing the new file.
Does anyone know what am I doing wrong?

You're not doing anything wrong, that's how it works.....PA off, put disc with new o/s in then turn the PA on and it should boot to the new o/s upgrade.

The other thing you could try is...put the floppy in, then go to disc>load and see if the PA is able to read the floppy, but to get it to upgrade you will have to do it the other way as described above.

If it's not working I would suggest going back to Korg's PA Italy site and re downloading the new o/s and try again.

to add to Terry's comments (I own a PA80)..
did you unzip the file correctly ?
Korg (Italy) zips up the OS into an EXE. You MUST run the executable (.exe) on your PC. The program will 'offload' the OS onto a floppy on the A: drive. It formats and verifies it during the process too !!

All you should have to do from there (to upgrade the PA60 OS) is to put that floppy in the drive and power-on the PA. The rest should be automatic.

Yep, like Steve said... I know that step gets missed by a lot of people including me. Did you "extract" the OS from the .exe file you downloaded?

Hey guys! thanks for the prompt response. Well, sure enough, as SOC9 said, the file wasn't decompressing properly on my computer, I went to my wife's computer and did it there, and it worked! thanks again.
