How does the T2 DB organ sound compared to the T1, PA1x, etc.? How is the leslie simulator as well as the C1/C2/C3, V1/V2/V3 effects? Can the T2 be setup to have upper and lower manuals? I've narrowed my choices to the T2 and PA1x but can't find any dealers that have them on display for a test ride.

I currently use the Roland VK8M so I want to maintain that organ sound of hopefully get a better B3 hammond sound on my next keyboard.

Thanks,
Bill

Hi Bill,

I have both the Tyros2 and the Vk8m along with the Triton Extreme which has some very nice Hammond sounds as well. The Tyros2 does not sound as good nor is as customizable as the Vk8m. The VK8M has very tasty tonewheel emulation with reverb, tremolo, and varying levels of tonewheel depth. The Tyros is severely lacking in this customizability if thats a word. However, I must say the new Organs in the T2 are very pleasing and I will probably use them in order to cut down on the amount of equipment and setup/breakdown time for gigs. I think they T2 organs are MUCH better than the T1 organs.

Al,

I presume it is the sampled organ voices that are improved rather than the drawbar ones?

You bring up a great point. Are the organ voices in the T2 COSM Modeled or sampled? I personally have no Idea, but they sound really, really, similar.

Anyone know?

Thanks for the responses.

Does the T2 have the equivalent of the C1/C2/C3 or V1/V2/V3 effects from the B3?

Hey bill

No it does not have those effects, which probably means it's not COSM modelled. I wish it did. That's why I was looking at the Roland G70 which has the VK organ modelling engine built in. I decided against it because so many more sounds and styles on the T2 were so compellingly good.

If you want great organ emulations in the Tyros 2 try using the sound editor, that's why it's included with the keyboard.
Hammond and Wersi emulations are easy to create.
