Hey all. Told ya I'd post a new message for this.

Currently, I can open Cakewalk 7.0 Pro Audio and happily play any MIDI file I load and it plays out through the M1 and sounds just wonderful.

Problem is, I can't play on the M1 and have it record back in Cakewalk.

I don't know what I'm setting, or not setting in Cakewalk, or on the M1.

I've also tried talking to it with Sysex 97, M1LibEd and they can't talk to it either. I found the setting to enable sysex on the M1 (with a Plus+1 upgrade if that makes any difference) but nothing's talking to it.

Can anyone help me out here? I'm really stumped.

I'm going to head over to where I work and grab an SB128 that's sitting in my system there to see if that solves anything.

After playing around with various things, I've come to the conclusion that perhaps it's my "You've never heard of our company before"-brand sound card. Seems to send MIDI data no problem but won't receive anything on the MPU401 port.

Cheers,
ian

Well, whatdya know?

SB64AWE works like a charm... guess my -almost-no-name brand sound card (WaveMaster 64FGP from Silicom Multimedia) isn't able to receive MIDI data.

Thanks,
ian
