Anybody could tell me what happened with
the Yamaha 9000Pro OS2.04 update?
I have installed this update but today only
the version 2.03 is available at the Yamaha site or PKclub.

Yes your correct. I have known this happen before and after downloading what was stated to be Ver 2.03 to find it was Ver 2.04

Its just the normal example of Yamaha's Left Hand not knowing what the Right Hand is doing.
Unfortunately Yamaha do not have a Customer Support Email to ask about the above....unlike the excellent Email Support from Roland UK.

But, really, it’s a very strange situation.

The date of OS2.04 files is 05/03/2003 and the OS2.03 is 08/10/2002.

You remember, at the instructions to update the OS2.03 to OS2.04 was written that the OS2.03 had problems in sequencer and it was out of use. Now, without any explanation, the Os2.04 don’t exist anymore.

What version you are using ?

The 9000Pro tells me it has Ver 2.04...but who knows whats really in there....HA!!!

I just went to the PKclub web site & you are right the Version 2.04 is gone again.
I sent an Email to Yamaha & we will see if they answer my question as to what
happened to Version 2.04 for the 9000 Pro.
I will let you know if I hear anything from them.

We are not aware of the reason why Japan pulled it. They will post it again as soon as possible. If needed, you can call us or email us next week when the marketing group gets back from NAMM and we may be able to give you a more definite answer. Thank You

We have not heard from Yamaha Japan as to why Version 2.04 was removed. Most likely, a bug was found. As soon as the OS has been reworked, it will be posted at www.yamahapkclub.com.

I'm really not sureif Yamaha US is knowing what they are talking about. Version 2.03 was definitly removed and discontinued because of the sampler bug. I don't belive, that they are putting that back, after having found a bug in 2.04.

I still see the issue as a web site maintenance problem of the Japanese web site. You can still download 2.04 using the direct link:

PS: On the German Yamaha site it's still 2.04 displayed as the actual version.
