What are the differences between the Sd-1 vs Sd-1 plus?

Some of the differences include: colored buttons, new sounds, new styles, new OS, much or all (?) of which can be achieved by installing the new OS into SD1. I think even the buttons are available, but not certain.

Those differences are slight, however. A much more significant improvement comes with AJs EXP upgrade.

The SD1 plus has a few new sounds -including a new acoustic piano- stored on the hard disk, but I have never heard them.

So I wonder whether the MidJay has the SD1 or the SD1 plus sounds and styles?

I have the SD1Plus piano sound on my hard drive and I like the regular one better.
In general, I believe the Midjay sounds are better than SD1. Only thing is, you can't load external sounds to the MJ.

Thank you for clarifying this point, Don; did you try to play a -wav loop together with a style? Ketron says that loops can be synced only with midifiles, and not styles.

No I didn't try it, and now I don't have it. HankB had to borrow it back from me!

Hi,
I'm hopefully buying a midijay this weeked.
I've been told by Don & others that Midijay's load SD1 styles.
That being the case, I'm planning on updating my EMC Styleworks program to Ketron format The software will hopefully allow me to edit & create styles for the Midijay.
If it works, it certainly opens up the flexibility of the machine. http://www.emc-musicsoftware.de/viashop/storefront/start.asp?
best wishes
Rikki
