Finally appeared:
Check out this Yamaha site for a side-by-side comparison of the new PSR1000, PSR2000 (versus the PSR9000) keyboards. http://solutionsnetwork.yamaha.com/knowledge/portcomp1.asp
In fact, you can enter almost any Yamaha PSR keyboard into the Comparison Chart.

I don't see any mention of flash memory. But there is mention of a PSR 2000 archive. It says only 4 user styles as far as custom styles, and I think, uh oh.

Could someone find out if it's true that you are limited to only 4 user styles on this keyboard? I might not upgrade if this is true.

I wonder how fast you can load a user style from floppy? Probably not fast enough to avoid a significant delay between songs. I can load up to 32 user styles in my wk8 and I think there are some boards that will load even more than that. I guess when they were designing this puppy they couldn't give it everything or no one would buy the 9000 series. I think they could have increased the user style to 8 or so. Maybe in the first OS update. Can you update the OS??

Hi Vic01,
You can play direct from floppy, without loading.

Is that loading and playing styles or is that loading and playing a song (smf, .mid, etc)?

Navagation, Vocal/Harmonizing processing, and Operating without a HD in a live situation on the Psr2000 will be the main things that I would be looking at in a mid level unit like this. Sometimes a good used top fo the line unit will be better suited for your needs.

Rumor has it the vocal harmonizer is improved over the psr740. Regarding the loading and playing styles from floppy, wouldn't it be nice if you could do like Farfisa did with the g7 and replace all the factory styles with your own if you wanted.

Hi Vic01,
This came from Simon Williams links SVPworld.
It was of the questions they ask Yamaha.
Read below,
Nobby
Question----
If the flash memory is full, and I want to load a new style from a floppy disk, do I have to delete files from the flash memory before I can load the new one, or can I replace a style like with the PSR 740?
Answer-----
You have to delete the style, but if it has the same name you can overwrite it. (It is the same as a computer) and the PSR-2000 has "Disk Direct Style Play", so you don't need to load from disk to internal flash memory. If you've ever tried this on the 9000, you'll know that this function works very well.
