I'm very new to synths and sequencing, so please bear with me and excuse my ignorance. I'm looking to buy the N5ex. I'm going to sequence drum beats on the computer and play them on the N5. My question is, will I have to lug a laptop computer everywhere with the N5 to be able to play those sequences? or does the keyboard have some memory?

If it cannot store short sequences, I'm thinking of going for a N364 instead. Comments?

Thanks everyone.

The N5ex has no sequencer memory. For the difference in price, go with the N364. The difference is cheaper than buying a MIDI file player, sequencer, or a laptop.

I would still recommend a cheap laptop over an internal sequencer. You don't need much of one if you just want to do midi. You can find them for next to nothing at EBAY.
