#18065 - 10/29/01 02:07 PM Connect Korg X5 to MacG3 Powerbook

I have been using my Korg X5 with a Windows laptop for some time. Now I am stuck in trying to connect it to my MacPowerbook. Since the Mac does not have a built in serial port, I bougth a USB-Serial Port converter and connected the cables to the X5 PCInterface. I have installed the Korg PCDriver in the Mac:System:Extensions Folder. I have tried to connect by using the MacVersion of Korg Editor, choosing the Printer Connection - no result.
What am I missing?

PC driver installed in a MAC? does that work? I see a driver listed for MACs at Korgy Park. http://cc.joensuu.fi/~jsimonen/korgypark.html

My mistake: I did of course not install the PC-Driver on my Mac. I tried both the KORG MIDI DRIVER as well as the KORG PCIF OMS DRIVER (both of which I downloaded from KORGY PARK - MAC SOFTWARE). I installed the two drivers in my extension folder, but I could not connect with my X5. The problem may either lie with my USB-Serial Port converter and its two extensions, or with the KORG drivers.
It seems like it should be very easy. Somehow it does not work (yet).
