Firstly, surfing websites about the latest offerings of Yamaha PSR keyboards somewhere at the middle of this year, finally end up buying PSR 3000 after reading the various discussions in the forums of Synth Zone and PSR Tutorial, convincing me it is really worth the money I have to spend on such a wonderful instrument. The most interesting aspect is learning deeper the intricacies of this keyboard on what it has to offer to play its full potentials. Not forgetting its endless storage capabilities by purchasing a USB Flash Drive (512 MB Pen Drive) which is more cheaper than the 128 MB Smart Media Card.

Secondly, treating myself and bought a special cake to share with the family members for the just concluded birthday last month.

Thirdly, it just enters my mind that time is running swiftly to remind me to post early my Christmas cards with messages to close friends and relatives living from across the miles for them to receive my holiday greetings just in time for the Yuletide Season!

Fourthly, registering myself to join the forums of Synth Zone and PSR Tutorial to participate in the discussions to update my musical knowledge further.

Last but not the least, still in the process of canvassing prices and specifications of the latest notebook computer I am planning to buy before the year ends or go forward to next year 2005!

Bought a kb that I don't really love (psr3k)and made a commitment to keep it through the holiday season.

Bought a kb that I REALLY, REALLY love (B3)and sold it 2 hours later. Actually, traded for a kb that I don't really like at all(Tyros)

Oh wait ....... you asked for stuff I never did this year? I do crazy stuff like this all the time.

Let's see...

I turned 20 years old...

I started teaching sixth grade...

I actually considered getting married (and decided not to pursue that, THANK GOD)...

The year has been such a whirlwind for me that I'm sure there's more; maybe I'll post more later when I can remember it.

And that's me.

Ummmm, let's see....

Went back into higher education in a new country.

Bought a psr-3000 that I don't have enough time to play

Played keyboards in a five-piece rock band, in a new country at that!

Played an acoustic grand in a country club piano bar in southern England.

Worked in a nursing home and health care setting for the first time ever - and loved it.

I bought a Psr 3000 and still loving it.

I was the winner against a prostate cancer. After two complicated surgeryes (last August and October), now I am ready for my job: music lessons and live music.

I saw the achievement of my young music students.

I saw a lot of informative topics in our SZone and I learned more and more.

First time in my life this year I have waited if I ordered something (like PSR-3000) and not wabble dabble and bought something older just because I wouldn't need to wait. And the PSR-3000 is not only thing I've waited...

1. Joined the Apple iPod bandwagon and purchased a G4 40 GIG iPod, and really loving it for both on & offstage pleasure. I now have over 5,000 of my all time favorite and/or essential songs (from 'all eras' of pop music: 1890's to present) conveniently accessible for almost instant (less than 10 sec) recall & playback. Apple's copyrighted click wheel technology makes this possible and a marvel to behold. I've become a real iPod fan. The other advantage of the iPod is the ability to use it as a storage device, transfering data between computers and sharing with friends via USB/fireware.

2. Got upset with Uncle Dave for the FIRST time (?) this year (if you can you believe that : http://www.synthzone.com/ubbs/Forum37/HTML/009275.html

3. Spotted my first sign of gray hair beginning to appear

excactly the reason I DIDNT BUY an Ipod...
10 seconds? that an eternity for stage use VS almost Instantly using my laptop to fire of
MP3 songs, lyrics, SMF files......plus searching ability is far more proficient compared to the little ipod screen......

But not bad for personal use to keep in your pocket though

Donny, on the job, I use the iPod primarily to provide appropriately fitting background music during breaks. I created a number of 'playlists' to suit specific gig venues & occasions. I don't use the iPod for backup to my actual performance as I rarely use midi files either. One thing I like to do is create playlists which feature other songs from the artists that I showcase in my show that evening. It kind of ties everything together. - Scott

I sold my two keyboards (9000Pro and SD-1)and bought a Tyros that I love more and more.

I played with fantastic musicians in the last Concert of my friend Chico.

My hair is going away.

Open my house to become fellowship meeting place for church.

Invited Christian speakers of stature with gifts of prophecy (an eye opener), miraculous healings (amazing) to my house and hosted 40 people fellowship gatherings. Played keyboards for a worship leader and setup sound system for 4 singers at my house with Logitech Z2200 as the center piece.

Doing business with UD for the first time (swapped keyboards) for the church. This will be finalized soon.

Soon will be going to Indonesia with my 3 year old son.

1- Moved into a brand new house.
2- Started having my studio constructed in the basement: http://www.johnlsayers.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=2372

3- Haven't recorded or made any music this year. Too busy buying new gear (PA1XPro, Fantom X6, TC Effects, Yamaha 01V96, Roland VGA3 Amp, Yamaha Magicstomp .....) and selling old stuff (Yamaha Motif 7, which I regret, Korg PA80, Yamaha 01V, Roland GT3 ....) on eBay.

4- Oh yeah, wife got a full time job so, had to baby sit : )

Cool Topic. Congrats first to all, particularly Chico. Great stuff.

OK well... what I didn't do this year ( for the first time in memory ) is complete any new songs, though there are a lot of pieces in place. Mainly because here is what I did do:

1. I converted my basement studio into living quarters for my mom. I built a new bathroom and kitchen for the first time, plumbing and all. The other work involved ( carpentry, electrical, etc ) I have done many times before. Befor the year is through I will be working on my new studio, which is a room to be converted in my attic. It will not be quite as big as my basement studio was, but at 20 x 14 I don't think I'll be hurting too much for space.

2. For the first time also... I bought a laptop and converted it into a genuine workstation / arranger. When I tally up what I spent on the puter, a "dumb" keyboard, music software, and several softsynths / samples, it probably prices out near what a PA1x would have cost me. But ohhh... the sounds.

Hi: Donny
I'm feeling much better now, but for the first few days I didn't
care if I lived or died, wasn't good.
Had 10 of my upper teeth grown into my sinus's so they
had to cut them out & do some reconstruction work on the
sinus.
I go back Nov. 29th for impression to make the false teeth,
should have teeth again some time in Dec.
This will be good.

I took my son to a WWE "RAW" Live on TV Pro wrestling venue!
My son was so excited because we had ring side seats. As for me, well...some of those guys weren't too bad to look at!

1) Planted green manure crops (buckwheat then winter rye) instead of vegetables (to increase soil fertility). I have never done this before.
2) Giving up foods that contain white sugar and/or white flour. (Blood glucose out of whack) Something that I have to do, but never did before.
