I had attended a pro audio exhibition today where I touched the PA 60 and the MOTIF ES for the first time in my life. THe PA 60 sounded real good especially the speaker system. There was no PSR 2100 on display and I have never heard or seen one live. I wanted to know...how is the sound system of the PA60/80 comparable to the sound system of the 2100? Also, the dance styles on the KORG were real good. Are the dance styles on the 2100 comparable?

The Korg sound system (both PA60-AND-80)tends to break up with strong vocals, and dominant bass...even from a midi file. I could never get it more than about 3/4 of the total volume...and that was too much some times. The PSR2100 is not as full sounding, but the presence is better and the overall volume is percieved to be louder with no distortion.
The tone of the Korg is better, I think because of the auto loudness circuitry, but that probably causes the boomyness that distorts easily at louder volumes.

I agree with what UD says. I think I like the actual amplifier section better ( it sounds cleaner ) on the 2000 series boards than on the PA80 / 60. This is different from instrument sounds though. I prefer more of the instruments on the PA80 / 60 than on the 2000 / 2100, but this is just my preference, and really both boards sound good.

I like the dance styles better on the PA80, but.... the PSR2000 gets an edge because of the way the multipads work .
