Hi,
Almost finished is the song 'Ole Keerl' and just wanted to post it here to find out how you guys think about it.

Who is able to tell what keyboard(s) did all instrumental stuff ? (played by me)
Recordings done with CubaseSX3 (by me)
Vocals by a good friend (former rock-musician)

Please feel free to send comments. http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?action=download&ufid=E7EDF6FB060646B5

PS Just realize 'join' in the topic header should be replaced with 'share' ?

Nice clear recording, loved the instruments used and the levels sounded very good.
The ending made me laugh (in a good way), totally unexpected and original. Keep up the good work.

I didn't understand the language (German?) it sounded similar to the song Nothing else matters by Metallica at the beginning.

Craig,

The language is one of the dialects in the Netherlands called 'Drents'.
The song is about an aged man, Gerrit, often walking thru the fields and thinking about his first love who died many years ago.

At the end Gerrit also dies and the brass-march does everyone realize life goes on.
Hope this explains a little the (unexpected) change.
Tnx for your comments Craig.

Any idea what machine did the music ?

This recording, assuming it is done on an arranger keyboard, is undoubtedly the best recording I have ever heard as far as it sounding like actual live instruments for the most part.

I am not going to guess right now which keyboard this might be, but the sound makes it such that I would like to have this keyboard.

Since the rock band sounded so very real I would also like to comment on the parts that while they sounded pretty good, I could tell that it was a keyboard. That would include the vocal harmonizer. Although it sounded pretty good for what it is, to me vocal harmonizers sound fake, all of them, and they always will sound fake. The brass band, although good for a keyboard did not sound as real as the rock band, which really sounds authentic.

Good recording and mixing technique.

I'll be interested to see which instrument this is

Hi, I just listened, I am 99.98 % certain that is the Tyros2, giveaways, sax, drum kit, the brass band, even I do not sing, I think they used the T2 harmonizer.
Well DONE !.

The organs are a giveaway...pure Tyros 2.

Very nice arrangement and use of the sounds.

I liked it a lot.

Thanks for so many nice comments.

Hint : No vocal harmonizer was used.

I listened again. I was surprised I didn't notice the sax the 1st time. So, in the 2nd listening, I'd have to say that it does sound like it is probably a Tyros 2 after paying extra attention to the sax, organ and brass.

That's funny considering I mentioned that this was a keyboard that I would like to have, as I have a Tyros 2

Very nice song indeed; and very well done.

The dialect is almost like platt deutsh (flatt German), a dialect spoken in north Germany.

I could almost understand the lyrics.

Thanks for sharing.
