at http://www2.iicm.edu/korgprog

contains a DEMO version for a new tool that is usable to create/modify i3 styles.

Read also http://www2.iicm.edu/democonv.doc , it contains a description
and usage examples of the DEMO. The free demo allows to convert 3 of 36
possible parts (Intro1, Var1, Ending1) from an existing i3 istyle to
midi files. These midi files can be modified or new midi files of
similiar form can be created with your favorite midi sequencer.
The second utility can convert the midi files to a new i3 style file
or replace a style of an existing i3 style file.
It is useful for users with KORG i-series keyboards that don't have style editor integrated or prefer edit with computer.

It does not support other style file formats, the final resulting style
can be converted with other utilities e.g. i3_i30, sty9toi, sty9tom, istyle ...

The full commercial Win95 version (includes DOS programs too if you
prefer using them in a batch) might be available in 01/1999 and
will not be expensive (tell me what you think to be fair price for it).

The MIDI output is for this demo not configurable (should be in full
version), so must choose between versions (i3,i30) that are closer to
your keyboard model.
This only influences the addressing GM drum and percussion kit program
for midi tracks DRUM, PERC.

Currently following settings for demo exist:
KORGI3: GM Drumkit at channel 10 MSB=3E,LSB=0,PROG=0
PercKit at channel 11 MSB=3E,LSB=0,PROG=18

KORGI30: GM Drumkit at channel 10 MSB=3E,LSB=0,PROG=0
PercKit at channel 11 MSB=3E,LSB=0,PROG=40

If your keyboard addresses GM Drumkit or PercKit not in this way
(you know it when you play a from i3 style generated midi and other
program plays instead of those two), then tell me what keyboard you
use and how it addresses these drums through MIDI.
It might be written in manal at chapter "MIDI Implementation",
there should be a table for the programs with MSB, LSB, PROG as above.
If not then you could send me a set of styles including BSQ that uses
these drums and a saved midi from the BSQ, the BSQ doesn't need to be
a full song, recording some random notes is enough.
My program midiprog from http://www.iicm.edu/Cpub shows these program
addresses from a midi file.

Style must be arranged when it is finished, and there you can use any settings you prefer.
Read also the style creation guidelines available on same page.
