I second ChrisA about using ethernet for transfer. A very basic ethernet card today will only run you up about $10.00 maximum per card and can get you to transfer roughly 85mbps versus well under 5mbps for USB 1 and well under 50mbps for USB 2. Installing it should be super easy.

If anyone want to put an ethernet card in their PC, please ask and I can help. I do this for a living ... (and have enough $$$ left over to pay for my music gears)
