HI: Joe
Yamaha user's do have a good forum, for getting answers to ?s & getting free styles
for PSR keyboards. The link is http://groups.yahoo.com/group/yamaha-psr-styles

they have a Archive were they also store hundreds or more styles all for free, At http://spectromagic.com/PSR-Styles-Vault-Archive/

You do have to join but that is also FREE.
Enjoying the 9000 PRO

Thanks for the tip, Denny, but I am aware of the PSR-Styles group as well as the PSR-Songs group. I did, indeed, download a ton of styles early on when I got my Yamaha 540. But, I am put off quite a bit by the limitation (similar on the 640 and 740) of only 3 user styles. I have some favorites, like Lounge Piano, which is one of the standard styles on higher-end PSRs, that I keep in those three slots. Of course, more can be loaded from disks, but this is time consuming and I have certainly gained an appreciation of the value a hard drive would add. I also think that flash memory, which would allow me to pick the styles I like and save them in the keyboard would be a big improvement. That's why I am eagerly awaiting more reports on the 2000, which I am hoping will be my next machine. It may only be a mid-tier machine compared to the latest super stars discussed in this forum (e.g. SD1), but I'm only a mid-tier player and it may be just fine for my needs.

Will the new psr2000 have more user registrations then the 740's (3) and a hard drive option?

George Kaye has already said there would be no hard drive option. Simon Williams' review at SVPWorld combines his intimate knowledge of the PSR740 with a detailed examination of a photo of the PSR2000 and guesses that there might be room for 10 user styles. The new system will also, supposedly, use the 9000 OS, but whether it will allow user installable style files like the 9000PRO remains to be seen. It should be displayed this weekend at the Summer NAMM show. We should then get some hands on reviews coming into the forum.
