hi arranger friends,

what do you think of the AKG K-240M headphone vs the Sennheiser HD-280 Pro ?
Just looking for some opinions if anybody ever used any of those products.
Thanks
Claude

I have only tried AKG K-240M and I like it very much. It is the most comfortable phones to the ear, allowing you to work longer.

In other words, I strongly advice not to use headphones because IT WILL ruin your ears eventually. But if you have to, AKG k240-m (I have not tried the k-240-df) is your best bet.

The AKG's are reeeealy low impedance, and don't put out much volume. I have a few pair, and most of my clients prefer the Sony 7506. They have a smaller ear cup, but are very comfortable to wear. They are WAY louder, and cost about the same.
If you don't use a HP amp - Get the Sonys.

wizboy, I have a set of akg 240s and Dave is right about the low volume but he got his ohms backwards. the standard 240 is a High impedence (600) which does give low volume unless well amped. Akg has just released a Low impedence(55 ohms) version called the studio 240 which will have a much higher output.
The sennheiser will have better isolation and less leakage in a recording situation.
I also like the sony 7506 very much.
