I have noticed when playing song/midi files on the PSR 3000 and watching the notation in the diplay panel, that chord symbols are shown for some songs. How is this donen and can chord symbols be added to existing midi files and if so how.
Many thanks
Tony Lawton

There are included during a Quick Record or multi record where chords are played.

You can add then later to a midi by using the program PSRUTI. See: http://www.heikoplate.de/

Michael

Either Band-In-A-Box or PowerTracks will do that automatically.

Thank you Michael and Glenn for your prompt replies. The PSRUTI should prove very useful once I have mastered it's use.
I have got Band in a Box but didn't realise I could add chord symbols that would show in the display screen of the keyboard. Glenn, maybe you would be kind enough to let me know how it is done.
Thank you again
Tony

There are two other programs that an add Yamaha Chord Events: XGWorks and XFTool.

PSRUTI is the best since it can identify the chords. These other programs do not do the detection.

Michael
