Chico,
this issue has been discussed at lenght on this Forum about the Tyros; Scott and Terry know everything about it.
Basically, every hard disk for a laptop computer will do; I have installed an IBM 20 GB, even if the 9000 pro can read only 8 Gb (but today is really difficult to find HD smaller than 20 Gb).
Installing the hard disk is really a piece of cake; you will even find the screws already in place inside the cover. The whole process takes about 15 minutes; the most annoying part is turning the keyboard upside down (I did it on my bed, to be sure that I wouldn't have damaged anything in the upper part).
Good luck.

Andrea.

Laptop Hds are formated as Fat 32.
I think that 9000Pro needs a Fat 16 Hd formated.
What do you think/

Chico,
when I got my hard disk it was not formatted; after the installation I got a message saying "The hard disk is not formatted; do you want to format it?"
Anyway, even if you buy an HD which is already FAT32 formatted, you can always re-format it after the installation.
I have chosen to partition the HD into four sections; so I can have all the midifiles in one, the styles in another, the sounds in a third and in the last one I keep files like backups, etc.
(I have to admit that, even after loading all my favorite styles and midifiles, the four partitions are still almost empty; they are 2 Gigabytes each and that's a lot of space for such small files).
