Hello again,
I have .kar files that have imbedded lyrics. When loaded in the VA-76, the music plays but lyrics are not displayed. Can anyone help me through the steps to change the floppy directory to display the lyrics. (My Yamaha 2000 had no problem in this area, darn it!)
Many thanks and a free Tyros for anyone that figures it out (just kidding),
Zuki

You may have to convert them from .kar to .mid w/lyrics. GNMidi is an excellent program. Free trial and then quite inexpensive.

Personally I like keyboards that do this because you can tell which midis are professional or not. Kar files are usually pretty poor unless they used to be professional midi files without lyrics which were later added to them (sometimes incorrectly as well)... but still worth having...

The thing is, with the newer keyboards such as the PA80, they recogise KAR files automatically and will display lyrics however you have to trust to your ears to tell if its done well or not...
