when i try to set up a PC I/F connection between my KORG X5DR and a serial port
the computer hangs on startup. when i try to install the driver, WIN95 doesnt detect the MIDI instrument at the COM port its plugged into. any ideas as to what the problem might be? I adusted the ext out sel -> PCIF
and the clk rate is set to 38.4. Thanks

I had the same problem so I just bought a regular midi lead with sound card connection and it works great.
Whats the point of the serial pc/if lead?

the regular midi lead that you got....does it plug into the 15 pin joystick port on your comoputer and have 3 wires coming out of it(2 5-pin midis and a 15pin port)? if so, did you hook up the two 5-pin midi wires to the midi in and out of the korg? thanks for yr help!
