MAN!!! So now should I get yet another arranger or the Motif? Sheesh, what a demonstration (obviously I've never been to NAMM, and still have a black-and-white tv as well).

Thank you for sharing this donny, I for one certainly appreciated it.

Thank you DNj - you are magik

Actually, I did click on Video, and Realplayer came up (I only have realplayer 8 basic), and I got prompts like "Can't play file, not supported". So I clicked on update (5MB), and now it works - and will have a look at it now!. Thanks

Hello Donny,
The Motif keyboard has been selling well . Mostly Hip Hop and R&B musicains are buying it . The sounds are very good . The drum tracks are very good as well ( drums are arppegiated loops ) . It is not an arranger keyboard .
NO disk drive with the MOtif either . Yamaha believes the floppy disk will be replaced by the smart media card .
I did have a customer save midi sequences onto the smart media ,however the Motif will not allow a Split mode while a midi sequence plays back.
All in all the MOtif is cool ! Available in 61 ,76 or 88 keys . 88 keys is priced under $2600.00 ! Dan O

Question for Dan01

I don't quite understand the Motif's sequencer. Is it akin to audio to midi conversion.By the way do you do trades?

Drudstar ,
Yes...Guitar Center does take trade in's .
I am not sure exactly what your question is .
I do know that you can syncipate a sample to a sequence . What do you mean by converting audio ? dano oneils4 @home.com

One example is the Roland guitar synthesizer GR-33 that converts analog string vibrations to midi data so your guitar could play any sound the synth holds.
