Help!
My key just broke last night, What should I do?
Bring my keyboard back to my dealer, or can I fix this myself?
My keyboard is a GEM PK7.
Thanks in advance.

Greetz,
Marcel

Unfortunately, this isn't something that you can fix yourself unless you have not only the technical skills, but additionally, the right components. Most keyboard key failures require that factory components be installed and I can tell you from first hand experience, this is not an easy task. Take the keyboard to your dealer and have the job done by their technical staff--it's the safest thing you can do.

Good Luck,

Gary

Also to save time....

Order a set keys (5 diff shapes) one of each to keep in case this happens again. This way when you bring it to the shop they can start to fix it right away.

By the way is it the key itself or maybe just a spring or contact?

Thanks,
I will bring it to the shop as soon as possible.
Don, I don't really know how to call it (my English isnt that good ), The key is attached to a white piece of plastic to hold in place.
That broke off.
BTW Can I just order the keys at the music store?

Marcel

How old is the instrument? They have a 5 year warranty which will be voided if you work on your insturment. They keys are normally in stock (if you are in USA) and would be able to be shipped right a way. Normally shipping takes 2-3 days depending where you live. I would recommend having a repair center fix the insturment, it honestly shouldn't cost that much for a repair.

Some manufacturers "buy in" keyboard bits from "FATAR" (who are italian, I think).

Thanks for the info ,
The keyboard is about 1,3 years old.
Roel:
I have called Da Capo about 10 minutes ago,
They said that I should call the technical service tomorrow.

Musically Yours UK:
I think I'm gonna try Da Capo first, I will ask them tomorrow if they can fix this stuff quick.
