Is it safe to use electric tape to tape my instrument cables in pairs so that I can more easily keep track of them, instead of 2 seperate cables for the right and left on my keyboards? Or will this in any way interfere with the sound? This would make things easier at shows and shorten the set up/tear down time.

As long as your using GOOD cables that are well shielded there should be no problem.....But, Do your self a favor do not use tape of any kind yu'l be sorry in warm weather......Instead Go to Radio shack and get some CABLE WRAP works great!!

Hi,

I run stereo from both of my keyboards and got tired of winding up four separate cables at tear-down so I had a 4 channel 15' snake built with straight 1/4" jacks on the amp end and right angle 1/4" jacks on the keyboard end. It works great. Much easier to wind up than cables that have been taped together or held together with some kind of wrap. Just a thought.

Kinda' expensive at $17 for a 5-foot length. I'll stick with the Radio Shack cable wrap--works for me.

Actually you can use little dabs of Super Glue about every two feet. Cover each spot with masking tape and leave it for a day or so. Then take the the tape off, throw the tape and the cords away, because it will probably eat right through the cables.
Then got to Radio Shack as Gary said and get cable wrap.
Had you going there for a minute didn't I?

Dave,
I drove 200 miles to Baton Rouge last night to play in a golf tournament today. Of course it was rained out, so I drove the same 200 miles back today, through a driving rainstorm, flooding and tornado.
To top it off, Chicago didn't beat the spread, and were lucky to escape the lowly Cardinals.
BTW, how bout them SAINTS!!
