I really, really, REALLY miss my VA-7.After two days without it[Dummy me, went and sold it!!], I realize it may have been the best arranger keyboard I ever owned[and that is saying something]..
What I will miss most of all , besides some great sounds and styles, are the version 2 goodies, namely the Lyric editing..It worked like a charm,,
Also the ability to read all types of lyric formats..
Heck I even got use to the touch screen and a few of the drawbacks to my G1000..
Anyone that spent time with a VA, soon would find it to be a great board...
I figure the G70 is close enuff, that it would be okay to let the VA-7 go..

I had a few Roland boards for sale, and after the first couple sold, I decided not to sell the VA-7..by the time I got home[lunch with the boys], went to Ebay to cancel the auction...darn ,,too late..someone used the "Buy now" option..

Anyone thinking of selling their VA... think twice about it...

Fran,
I still have 2 VA76 keyboards left. You can buy one at a really good price!

Gary, if the new G70 is as easy to work with as the G1000 , and has all the features expected[advertised], it will be my new weapon of choice..

What that will mean..The G1000 will stay in the studio..I would not sell it [unless someone offered a zillion dollars for it, after all ,this is one famous keyboard]..
As a controller, it is super, and very detail oriented...it is probably worth the same "dead or alive".
After consideration, I realized the G1000 was every bit as good as the D-70 as a controller[except for the weight[26lbs to 41lbs].The G actually is superior as a controller....

Who knows, maybe I will prefer the G1000 over the G70!!

Really, I predict the G70 will be a monster and I bet it will give Korg,Ketron, and Yamaha, a run for the money..everyone is tired of the drawbacks of the forementioned guys..We need a new Solid Leader..

Fran,
I've bought and sold VA's several times and always go through withdrawals. What a great board.

Hi Fran,
hopefully you won't have to wait too long for the G70. With a bit of luck, this time Roland's got it right, it's been quite a few years between models.

I really enjoyed my g800 for the couple of years I had it. The VA7 a few years down the track was a bit of a shock to the system, it was not easy to navigate.

Unfortunately I really loved my kn7000 ( had both at the same time), so I probably didn't give the va7 the attention it deserved.

If you're anything like me, you're probably counting down the days till you get your new one.

Hang in there, it's amazing how quickly time passes.

best wishes
Rikki
