No idea there DNJ sorry to hear it.
My 1gb and 512mb USB drives are USB2 but still work with the Tyros 2.
I know different memoty sticks operate at different speeds but I wouldn't have thought that mattered, unless it's too quick for the T2 to cope with or is that just daft on my part?
Have you tried both USB ports on the T2 to make sure it's not just the front or rear at fault?
Good luck m8

Donny, it must be incompatible. I don't use Thumb drives, but I use 1 gig CompactFlash drives with a multi-card reader and that works just fine. Are you using the USB port in the front of the T2 or the rear? Does it make a difference I wonder?

Just an idea, this problem came up a few times before with the memory cards,(it may be the same problem with the memory stick) you was asked to format, and if i remember correctly it was fat 32 or fat 16,the auto (default) format was the wrong one so you had to change it,maybe someone else remembers, mike
Ps, it was graham that discovered the solution

Reformat the USB Thumb Drive in FAT and it should work just fine.

Cheers,

Gary

Ditto.

With your thumb drive inserted into your Windows PC/laptop. On Desktop: double click 'my computer' icon. Right click on USB Thumb Drive icon and select 'Format'. Check file 'system type' and if required, change it to: 'Fat32. Make sure format option box, 'Quick Format' is NOT checked. Click on START. Re-formatting will begin. This will COMPLETELY ERASE all data on the USB Thumb drive and re-format it in FAT32 format. Good luck.
