This is the topic which seems to continue coming up, but now that I am thinking of upgrading my sound system, here is the question:

I have come across an ad in zzounds, for Behringer B300 biamped speakers for $400 a piece. From the specs it seems like they are 300 Watt equivalent of Mackie SRM450 and JBL EON G2.

Does anyone have experience using them with arranger keyboards, or other full-range sound situations (pumping both drum & bass, instrument, and vocals through them)?

I know that most folks in this forum like SRMs over EONs, but I don't need quite so much power (nor want to pay the high price).

I play occasional parties for 200-300 people, and typically fewer.

I would appreciate your advice.

Thanks,
Alex

I haven't tried any of them other than the Eon's and Peavey's, but I like the original Eon's a lot because they are the lightest ones. Be sure and check out the weight of the Behringers if you plan to tote them around a lot. The Mackies, Peaveys and G2's are very heavy, but sound great.
