I born in New Orleans Louisiana but I left when I was 32. I now live on the Western Slope of the Rocky Mountains, near Grand Junction Colorado in a small town called Fruita.

Not much snow here in the valley but in about an hour's drive. I'm at a ski resort called Powderhorn in the neighborhood of 8000 to 10000 feet on the Grand Mesa. It is the largest flatop mountain in the world.

Most of the area for hundres of miles around here looks like the red rock mountain stuff you see in the old western movies.

Not bragging. I just mention this because it is a beautiful area to see. Most people get to Denver and stop. But they are missing a lot by not driving over the mountains to the western slope.

I am in Ventura California and maintain this BBS and Synth Zone from my home there. I relocated here around 13 years ago from Melbourne Australia due to my work programming video games. Life is pretty comfortable here in Southern California but I also like living in Australia except that the economy there makes it tough.

I live in New Mexico, and verify that Catsailors comment about it being in the USA is warranted. I was recently quoted international shipping rates by someone on the east coast. The weather here has allowed golf in shirt sleeves the past two weeks, but we would rather that not too many more people find out about that.

Lanny ... Isn't that crazy?!? I don't know why they don't teach Geography in the schools anymore .... Citizens should at least know the States ... When I was first moving from New York City to Rhode Island, people actually asked "what part of NY is Rhode Island in?"....

Tony,
Just shows that everything is a matter of perspective.
Isn't it great how Synthzone has shrunk the world for us! Thanks to Nigel!

Hi Lanny,

I'm just a wee bit down the road from you in Edgewood. I once had another sailor ask me why I was in the US Navy! I told him it was a cultural exchange program. Also, I was in a pizza joint in Florida and asked a waiter if they would take a check. He asked where I was from, I told him, and he said he would have to check with the manager. When he came back he asked if we were still fighting the Indians. Boy, did I have fun with him! Ah, what a state!
