Hello,

excellent question. I have not listend or played with x1 so I am not the person to compare. But one of these day I will try x1 for some good time and write good comparison. If x1 is better, well... keyboards evolve. If GEM is better, I will be bugging Uncle Dave big time for the rest of his life *LOL*, (I am just kidding)

What other arranger keyboards did you try or own before deciding on SK880? Why did you buy it? I have an I30 looking to make a change. I am interested in SK760 but there isn't a dealer who has one near me?

JCkeeys,

Hello. Sk880 is the only keyboard that has 88 hammer action weighted keys and auto accompaniment.

I listened to Korg I30, PSR8000, G1000.

-Korg I30 might have better drums, but Sk880 has better styles. I think that what Korg I30 has is separate volume control for precussions so that fill-ins are controlled separately than the regular drums. That is nice but that is the only thing that is nicer. *s*

-PSR8000 might have some better sounds and some nice styles, but sk880 has more realistic styles and some other decent sounds like strumming guitars and so on. (PSR8000 sounds home keyboard in comparison to SK880).

-Sk880 is better than Roland G1000

But again this is a very opinionated subject. I strongly strongly advice you to listen to the keyboard before buying Because it depends on what is your style as a musician. It works well for me.
