On psr740 and also psr2000, at least, there is a style called 8beatAdria. What's an 'adria?' Is that a musical term?

I have always loved this style and it fits many songs I have written. Among all the styles I have heard, it's my fave or close to it.

I don't like to use a style more than once or twice on original songs if I can help it. Just wondering if anyone knows if other styles similar to this particular style exist. I'd sure like to have some more kinda like this.

I was led to believe it's an 8-beat style for Adriatic music and I use it a lot for Italian and Greek songs.

I too have wondered about this style. Could you name a couple of songs that use it?

hi,

"adria" means "adriatic ocean"...e.g.italy..

choose mandolines and trumpet-sounds or/and heaven-bells and play:
-spanish eyes (al martino)
-o sole mio (italy trad.)
-you belong to my heart
-arrividerci roma (italy trad.)

have fun!
regards

Yes this is a style from Adriatic sea,but not only from Italy,or Grece.
In front of Italy, across Adriatic see is little country named CROATIA,and in our country music we use mandolin, guitar and accordion the most.
And our music ,and songs are beautiful specially from region caled 'Dalmatia'
About month ago i put some questions about mandolin voice on PSR on this forum, and give ansver from Gary and other guys. One more thanks!
p.s. 'O sole mio' I rather play in beguine style

Yes, the Beguine style is great for a number of Mediterranean area ballads. Add a mandolin with a layer of strings and you can make some fantastic music.
