Hello
I have a Oriental X1. I am trying to rout my Arabic drum sounds to go out of the no#4 output. Iam able to do that but it still comes out of output 1 & 2. on the other hand the regular styles will only output the drum sounds on Channel 4.. Any suggestions please..

I remember a similar situation with my X1. When you route anything through the 3rd or 4th outputs, it still comes through the internal speakers, but NOT the line outputs(1&2) Try shutting off the internal speakers, and sending the main outs to a different amp channel - you'll see that the sounds are indeed separate. They will always be present in the "on board" monitor speakers, however.

...if you route the output correctly (depending on what is assinged to what output), yes, they will still come through the internal speakers - however, you will notice that some sounds will be PANNED either to the RHS or LHS.

To route separate outputs:
* UTILITIES
* PAGE 2
* Keyboard out assign (F6)
* Separate 1 2 3 4 (F4)
CURSOR to move to instument to re-route
-VALUE+ to assign
EXIT
SAVE/ENTER (if you want to leave this setting whenever you turn on X-unit)

Thanks Uncle Dave, I tried it by shutting down the speakers,the result was, the stock internal styles will follow the routing , but the user styles which is being loaded to the x1 on power up, will still come out of output 1&2. Any Ideas how to find out the way the user styles were manufactured to do that AJ had a very good suggestion also but it did the same thing Thanks guys..

What a strange thing for the user styles NOT to follow the routing. I'd call Solton on that one - doesn't make sense.

George,

Just a tip: Generally (unless you copy from the internal styles or LOAD solton X1 styles) the user styles do NOT have the 2nd drum tracks (Grooves) associated with them.

As a test:-
* Press F10 (I think) and MUTE the GROOVE track all together.
* Next try again using an on-board style and a loaded pattern. Still different?

When you are assigning the different parts of the accompaniment,
* do you also assign the GROOVE tacks too?
* are you using 'SEPARATE OUT 1, 2, 3, 4'?
* are you switching REGISTRATIONS (if yes, you might want to DIACTIVATE the outassign feature under UTILITIES, PAGE 2, REGIS MODE.

Let me know the outcome (if any) ... else you might have to contact KETRON directly.

AJ

Thanks AJ, I tried all the suggestions you have made which are great by the way. Unfortunately I could never get rid of the drums coming out of outputs 1 & 2. So I did the next best thing which works fine, but too bad I cannot utilise the nice effects that the X1 provides internally for my solo sounds and my Microphone. The reason is That I am assighning the drums and Base to go out on L&R and Rigth hand,Accp.Micro, out of output #3. I am using L&R+#3. as my Assinment page. How would I bring up this situation to Solton\Ketron's Engineering dept. to figure out. Since I really do not wish to have any effects on my drums and base,but have effects on my rigth hand solos and micro. Visa/Versa. You know what I mean
????? Ps..this is happening on the Arabic styles that are loaded into user styles on power up. Thanks again AJ.
