Does it include GM and XG soundfonts or is it merely a player?

It is merely a player. There are excellent free GM sound sets available on the web. In terms of artifact-free sound quality, sfz is one of the best, one a par with Kontakt, etc. Of course, it sounds only as good as the samples you load into it. If you want more control, sfz+ is also available at low cost.

It loads up as a Vsti and works without a hitch for me inside of FL Studio and Sonar.
