Need to replace my broken G-800, conciderating a brand new va-7 and a used i30HD. haven't tried the va-7 yet, but i30 sound good to me, and half the price!
Although my midifiles created on G-800 sounded terrible on i30, a lot o work mapping the right sounds...

Any advice appreciated

Hello!

If you had the G-800, then the i30 will definitely be more of your style. ALso non speakers, also mailny for performance made without many ncie home make people funny functions. No stupid colours and games, but just a rough black super keyboard. I would definitely recommende the i30 and than I am not even talking about the $$$ !!!!!

thanks Ilia, guess I'd better go for the i30.

I use Musicator Sequencer, do you know where to find the .mod-file for i30? (intrument-definition-file)

I recommend you to go to the best place for Korg i30 questions:
It is a MUST visit! http://discserver.snap.com/Indices/24426.html

You will definitely find someone to help you with that file the same day!

Yogi,

how can you make a decision like this based upon one person's swipe at the VA-7?

Think rationally before spending. Get proper 'ups' and 'downs' of each and ultimately listen and/or play both of these instruments.
Good luck.

Brian.
