Hi all!

I want to change the order of the programs in one of my "User Program Set", but I don't know how to do this.

When I had my old VA-7, I used RDBM(Roland Database Manager) to rearrange the programs in the list, but unfortunately this software doesn't(yet) support the G-70s format for "User Programs".

Is this even possible to do in the G-70?

Hi Turnip,
some people believe, Roland is working to provide G-70 RDBM ?! Momentary I see one method to get user program 'Set List' in new order. First: Select single user program by finder and store this program by overwrite the pointer(s) in the 'Set List' order number you wish by 'write'. This will build a new pointer. I see: it is a time-consuming method. Perhaps some specialist have a better idea.
Regards,
Hanspeter

Hi Hanspeter!

Yes, I've thought of that method as well, but as you say, it takes a lot of time do do this.

Hopefully, Roland soon will release a new version of RDBM, or a new G-70 software upgrade that can make this procedure much easier.

and I always thought such high level support would not be necessary.

Speaking on user programs, can anyone confirm if the G 70 is able to store midi settings too? (I am referring to the ability of sending bank and program changes to external modules and store them within each user program; I was unable to find references to this into the user manual, which I downloaded).
Thanks.
A.

G-70, at user program change, sends the bank and program changes of the sounds assigned to its internal parts; if they match (or are compatible) with your external module messages, you can control it changing user programs.
You cannot define your own bank and program change and save them into a user program; this is a typical master keyboard function that goes beyond the G-70 capabilities.

What a pity!
Any chance that this feature can be implemented in a future OS release? (hint, hint, hint...)
