why not try just buy a PA from a store like Guitar Center. Try it out on a gig, if you dont like it return it and get another. They have a great return policy.

No but I got New Dynacord powermate 1000 --powered mixer to replace a studiomaster 1200. I am very pleased with it as are many others Pierce Ireland

I thought we went through your search for a PA last year . . . what happened? If you don't want to lug a mixer and two cabs around why not just take the mixer and one cab? It's one trip less to the car, and only one more than buying a new amp. See, I can too compromise.
