Hi there!I am looking for some ideas on how much one should pay for a used ESI-32.
well kept,studio used,no scsi
no efects, and there are no disks that come with it
2mb memory
???
I am looking for a sampler which I can use as main source of sounds plus drum loops(how is time steching/compression feature on the esi-32,too much sound artifacts or not?) etc.
is this one a good choice?
Thanks!

Hi there.. I wouldn't pay more than $700 for the ESI as listed w/equipment you mentioned regardless of who owned it. I own an ESI w/32mb ram and the scsi and I LOVE IT!! Actually need to get the ESI-4000 for my programmer since he needs more polyphony, etc
than what I need.. The ESI came with a couple sets of disks, don't know why the person wouldn't give those to you ? Anyway.. If you can get it for $700 def get it and upgrade it when your finances allow you to.
I'm more of a guitarist than programmer, but my guy thinks the time stretching, and ease of use to be pretty good. I've used it for drum looping just to jam and it's been easy for me to understand..

Why don't you offer the guy 3 dollars and fifty cents if he drops it off with a bottle of wine and flowers. I just saw in Musician's Friend Catalog they're having a closeout on ESI4000 TURBO with built-in ZIP drive for only $699, give me a day to put a deposit on one myself, my EMAX 2 is dying and I'll need to replace it. Email me with a nice thank-you message and visit my webpage at http://users.desupernet.com/javaman/index.html

WHAT???? I'll have to check that ref on the ESI -4000 turbo.. I haven't seen an ESI 4000 w/scsi for less than $1050... are you talking used or what??? I'd rather have an ESI 32 with 32mb or ram than a ESI 4000 w/4mb of ram.. But the ESI 4000 is alot better.. hmmmm interesting...

Muscican's Friend IS selling the ESI4000 sampler for $699.99. It comes with the Turbo option kit and a built in 100MB Zip drive. I know it sounds to good to be true but it is (I'm looking at it in the Musician's Friend Holiday Gift Guide right now).

i am sure that darn thing goes down in price but it's not 2001 yet :-)
