The answer to your question is yes, you need to store the sample as a custom voice first, then record a sequence into a pad using the same custom voice. I have a sample of waves crashing on the shore complete with seagulls!! that I have set into one of the multipads, it's very effective. Also, Check out www.cd-soft.de for new sounds to load into the 9000's sampler, I haven't bought any of these new sounds yet, anyone on this forum had first hand experience with the CD SOFT sounds??.

The older Technics keyboards had a really neat applause sample that was pre-assigned to a pad. I wish I had something like that. I sometimes used it to "shake up" apathetic crowds.
