With the PSR 2000, is it possible (and convenient!) to create sequences with changing tempos.....such as an intro at 100 bpm, then an AABB at 140.....etc.....Can it be done? Thanks.

Definitely! You can do it either of two ways. 1. Using a computer sequencing program, record the style chord progression at 100 bpm. Then select the measures you want to change tempo with and change the tempo.

I recorded a song that has tons of tempo changes and it sounds beautiful. I recorded it with the PSR740 and Cakewalk and in Cakewalk Tempo View I was able to paint the tempo variations with a sweep of my mouse.

The second way (and I've never tried this and I'm not sure if it works) is to set up each section of the song as a registration. Make one registration apply to one variation and bpm and make another registration apply to a different variation and different bpm.

Thank you Larry. I am aware that with a computer sequencer this is a simple task; I am interested in knowing if this can be accomplished on the PSR 2000 by itself. Thanks for your advice.

Hi Larry,

Would LOVE to hear a sample of your songs recorded on the PSR2000 (including the one mentioned above). Could you perhaps share it (MP3 or SMF) with us?

Btw: I plan to have another 'new' song (performed on the PSR2000) on my website in the next few days.

So Scott, I'm sure YOU would know, if anybody, if tempo changes could be done in the PSR 2000 sequencer. What's the verdict?

Hi MarcK:
Yep, you CAN easily record tempo changes in the PSR2000's internal sequencer. Larry is correct in that you can setup different registrations (for each part of a song: AABA etc) at different tempo settings. This will effectively trigger & record tempo changes when each part of the song is reached. Tempo changes can also be entered & edited (step record) in the Song Creator's: System Events (Sys/Ex) page. - Scott
