Haven't tried the V-Stand, but I love my Apex. I have two regular tiers and have recently added the extended bars so that I can set the lower keyboard a little forward and place the upper keyboard a little lower. I have X-stands and the A-frame and a table style stand; the Apex is the one I always end up using. It's not great if you want to sit or if you have bass pedals, but those are limited situations. Good luck with your final decision.

I have the Apex, which I really like. It will 'bounce' a bit, but only if you're playing too hard, which I tend to do sometimes. Built like a tank and great support from Ultimate. Highly recommended.
