I have a request � Many of the songs on this forum have vocals as the main thought � I think they are great and I enjoy listening to them, BUT it would be so nice to hear some Big Band or Latin songs as instrumentals. I wanna hear the keyboard � and � they why the soloist is using the keyboard. Not only will I enjoy the music, but I also would have a chance to learn something new � I already know what I do.

Please no blues or strictly improvising, just some great songs.

You may notice that the sound does not change much as the camera moves around even though it is using the internal microphone; this is because the player is using the Bose PAS (L1) speakers which give a better spread of sound then conventional speakers.

This reminds me of after I closed my music store in Wisconsin and was with Tune Town Keyboards whose main showroom was in Largo, Florida.

They were among other things a Technics, Kimball, Hammond and Wersi organ dealership. One of their locations was the top store in the country at that time which would have been about 1989.

Anyway, it was a common occurrence then for them to hold an organ concert in their large auditorium and have over 500 people show up for artists like was shown on your YouTube clip.

Has anyone ever heard Rick Ionne (sp)? I first heard him with Wersi and last I heard he was with Roland. Absolutely incredible player, not to mention other fantastic players that I had the pleasure of working with like Hector Olivera, Choy Lazada, Larry Farrari, Marco Mendez, Dennis Awe, etc, etc.

I feel very privileged to have been immersed in that world in all it's phases
including my work of playing concerts in many places, at the same time see the senior hobbyists truly enjoy their home organ hobby. It's a shame the baby-boomers can't relate to the organ and that world continues to shrink in the US. Looks like it's alive and well in Europe.

It is true, many have turned away from the organ. And now the electric piano is becoming a favorite. Or the acoustic piano with an electronic attachment to record or play any type of music. We are almost back to the organ.

One fault I did find with the people who demonstrated the organ, that made it sound like an organ. I fell in love with the organ after hearing a recording of I can�t get started, it was difficult to distinguish if I was listening to an organ or a live band. Our keyboards were mothered by the organ.

I owned two Wersi home organs, The Delta X500 and a smaller one that I was able to take the top part off and bring it to the job. Talking about a heavy keyboard, ouch.

That's the one...Ric Ianone. I came to know him when he was with Wersi. An incredible player, yes. He also developed software for Wersi.

I had the pleasure of seeing Hector Olivera in concert in Taipei (Taiwan) in 1981 or 1982. At the time he was with Kawai. Dennis Awe...I bought some of his workshop material, was still with Technics at the time. He's with Lowrey now. Is his sister still with Yamaha? Larry Farrari...I am pretty sure that he had his own radio program. As far as I know it aired on Sunday mornings.

Yes, John the arranger keyboards and digital ensembles are tending to replace the home organ in that they are doing what the those organs did for many years. The part that is missing is the public interest. No longer do a lot of people show up especially on a consistent basis like the home organ world. I do miss it a bunch. Every so often I get tempted to move to one of the areas where there is a very high population of the senior community that enjoys and supports it.

Hi Bruno,
Since you asked for something in the Latin line here is Flamingo - well in this interpretation it's about 90% Latin rhythm.

It's recorded on Tyros2 (no subsequent multi tracking) and the female voice is a modified 3rd Party (IrishActs) custom voice.
It's not a pro offering - home recorded primarily for home consumption.
Watch out for a change of rhythm three quarters through. Judging from previous reactions it'll either be appreciated or you'll wonder what the heck that is all about-lol!

Here is a link with some of the songs on my CD....of course, ONLY instrumental music and all was done in the T2 also the recorder used was the one built into the T2.
I hope you like what I play, remember, I perform 99% for the Senior Dances, so, some tempos may sound slower, the "key" word is "Seniors".

John (Jwyvern): As you already know, I really admire your mastery of being able to take Tyros2 already impressive voices to yet an even higher level creating and/or customizing TVN voices, and in this case, your modified Irish Act female voice on this tune. Lush arrangement & VERY nice playing too.

Yes, the 2 Scott syndrome has been interesting through the years and I know people commonly think I'm you and vice versa.

Also, thanx for the compliment, especially coming from you as I really enjoy your work.

"Scott's Off The Cuff Jam" was done on my old Technics KN1000. I really liked that keyboard in it's day, and think many of the voices are still superior to what's out now. I had just gotten it and was just doing a test recording with the different voices that I liked.

Everything else that is currently on my site was done on the Tyros 1 except for "I Wanna Be Like You" which I did on the Roland E35.

When I have time, haha, I will be putting up things done on the Tyros 2.

I love this, I am hearing music being played with a keyboard. This should not be instrumentals and no vocals � It should be instrumentals and vocals or vocals with an instrumental solo.

Natural tendency for me is to revert to piano style playing where possible and the first section was full KB layered with strings. All others were with split KB.

Zuki & Stephen-
The piano is the Ty2 LiveGrand but heavily tweaked every which-way affecting the tone, touch response & stereo presence (best felt when heard "live"). In fact it's in 2 halves (in R1 lower-midrange & R2 mid-upper)with tweaks tailored to the optimum for each half.
Each half played separately sounds peculiar but together they blend to make quite a nice piano for a piece of plastic - to my ears anyway-lol!
It shouldn't make a difference to any decision on S900 vs Ty2 Zuki since the "best" Ty2 Grand presets are also available on the S900 (Voice nos. 0/113/1 & 0/114/1).

The fact that TY2 has 3 RH voices over the 2 on the S900 would carry more weight for me (not sure if I intended that pun or not!) - but that's an opinion of one who's a home player.

Nice to hear the good music offered by Manuel, Eddie - & Scott L whom I mention specifically because my previous comments were related to Scott Y -hehe!!!

That was a great sound and I liked your interpretation of Flamingo. I've been playing Return To Me as a latin and I noticed the first few notes of Flamingo are identical. I may turn that into a medley.

I first heard Red Nichols and his Five Pennies do that song as a latin at the bridge but a standard beat for the A section. I started doing it as a latin in the '80's.

September Song, like a lot of tunes, lend themselves well to various styles. I haven't tried it as a polka yet but you never know.
