Hi All. My friend bought a Tyros2 a few days ago to replace his Tyros1. He removed the hard drive from the t1 and put it in the t2. But he is unsure how to transfer all the internal styles and multipads of t1 to t2. I told him i would find out. He needs to do it this week before he sells his t1. Tyros owners please help. Whats the easiest way ? Must he put the hard drive back in t1 ? Or use a usb stiffy drive? Can t1 copy all 300 internal styles at once? And how do u copy the t1 multipads? ANY HELP WILL REALLY BE APPRECIATED. THANKS.

Unfortunately, the easiest way to do this would have been to merely copy and paste the internal files to the hard drive before removing it. Now that it has been removed, he will have to copy the internal files to floppy disks then copy the floppy information to his USB drive using his PC. The files can then be loaded into the T2's user area. Same is true with the multi pads.

Good Luck,

Gary

I know someone who took their T1 hard drive out and put it inside the T2 and it wouldn't work until they formatted it again so you may have some trouble getting it to work.
As travlin'easy put above it's a shame a back up of the files onto PC wasn't done first. Best of luck with it

The hard drive worked on the t2 and he didnt lose any files. Is there really a risk of losing everything on the hard drive if he puts it back in t1 to copy the styles and multipads? He doesnt have a pc.. What about this idea... copy maybe 20 tyros1 styles at a time onto a stiffy and transfer them to t2 using a usb stiffy drive. He was hoping to put the hard drive back into t1 to copy the easy way

It shouldn't be a problem.

Why dont you just put a new drive in the T1 and keep the old one in the T2...

Nothing to transfer
